1,500 metal pallets from GEBHARDT for the Bischof + Klein high bay extension
Bischof + Klein, Konzell
The product range of the Bischof + Klein GROUP encompasses the entire range of flexible packaging – from traditional industrial packaging and consumer packaging to special films for technical applications – from 2-gramme portion packaging to flexible liquid liners for 1,200 litres. Industrial packaging from B+K is used world-wide. Their customers include major players within the chemicals, agriculture and horticulture, construction and housing, high-purity products and foodstuffs industries.
With increasing customer requirements and expansion of production capacities at the site in Konzell, located in the Bavarian Forest, logistical requirements have also increased. In order to meet these new challenges, it was necessary to extend the existing high-bay warehouse from a capacity of 1,760 to 3,360 individual parking spaces. The building was completed within a short time.
With GEBHARDT Logistic Solutions GmbH, Bischof + Klein has commissioned a regional load carrier specialist to produce 1,500 pieces of galvanized steel prism pallets, especially designed for the high-bay warehouse. "The complete handling of the offers, the technical coordination and the order confirmation went very well, including of course the very good quality of the product, and I am pleased that this project went off so smoothly and on schedule. Thus, our construction phase II of the high-bay warehouse was put into operation according to schedule," said Hans Schneller, Head of Logistics.
In the course of the project, the process consultants from GEBHARDT, together with the B + K logistics team, also optimized the optional plug-in tube hangers for hanging roller bearings and developed a solution so that shorter versions of these rolls do not telescope during transport in the automatic high-bay warehouse. "The cooperation in this spontaneous side project worked very well, so we were able to make even better use of the high-bay warehouse," says Michael Weinzierl, Logistics Operations Manager at Bischof + Klein.
