Inspection containers ensure the safe transport of high-quality cable ducts
Schott Electronic Packaging AG, Landshut
The Electronic Packaging business unit of Schott AG, located in Landshut, Germany, is a leading developer and supplier of hermetic packages and other components which protect sensitive electronics. The company's core expertise includes glass/metal and ceramic/metal bushings, thermal links and a wide range of special glasses. Schott AG's most important markets are the household appliance, pharmaceutical, electronics, optics and transport sectors.
Schott Electronic Packaging tasked GEBHARDT with the development of a special metal container to transport cable bushings with a high manufacturing cost which provide a stable current supply in the containment structures in nuclear power stations. The so-called revision container has to provide reliable protection for the goods from dust and moisture. In addition to optimum density, safety during transport was a major requirement. This has been achieved through the outstanding fit between the container and the goods as well as the high quality finish of the container.
Heribert Brunner, Manager Product Line Large Scale Feedthroughs, is extremely pleased with the collaboration. "Right from the start, coordination between us and the developers at GEBHARDT was perfect. This meant we were able to develop a revision container in a relatively short period of time which meets all our requirements."
